What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll serve as the strategic and operational leader of ONUG’s Engineering Operations team—overseeing telecom design and construction, managing project budgets and timelines, driving profitability, and ensuring on-time, high-quality service delivery across GIS, engineering, field operations, and project management.
You’ll develop and support a high-performing team while providing technical leadership in OSP engineering, including CAD interpretation and training, field verifications, operational reporting, and fiber system analysis.
You’ll also support sales through pricing and bidding efforts, oversee compliant invoicing and job-completion packages, and build strong relationships with customers, utilities, contractors, and governmental partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Operations team
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in alignment with quality standards
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Select, evaluate, and price products and materials used for customer solutions
- Select, evaluate, price, and manage vendors and third-party partners
- Oversee and improve service delivery processes, including onshore/offshore collaboration
- Ensure accurate, compliant invoicing and job-submission packages
- Select, develop, train, and evaluate Operations team members
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide continuous leadership and management of staff in direct reporting relationships.
- Select, hire, manage, develop, train, and evaluate team members to ensure strong performance and alignment with ONUG values.
- Conduct coaching, feedback, and performance management with clarity, fairness, and professionalism.
- When necessary, make tough personnel decisions — including corrective action or termination — with integrity and compassion.
What you Bring
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred); substantial, relevant telecom engineering experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
- Demonstrated, successful leadership experience in OSP telecommunications operations
- Training and substantial hands-on experience in outside plant (OSP) engineering methods and procedures
- Functional knowledge of OSP principles and fiber systems
- Working knowledge of municipal and state construction permitting requirements and procedures
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to changing technology, tools, and processes
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform field-based work when needed

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Permitting Specialist, you’ll support the design and documentation of fiber optic networks while learning from experienced engineers and designers. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client and industry standards.

- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop project designs and specifications
- Prepare and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related tools

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Telecom Project Manager, you’ll manage and coordinate all aspects of telecom design projects while serving as a key point of contact for client relationships. You’ll oversee project schedules, budgets, scope, and invoicing — ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and profitably.
You’ll work closely with engineering, drafting, and field teams to guide execution while maintaining accountability for financial performance and client satisfaction. You’ll also identify opportunities for additional work and support revenue growth through strong project execution and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned telecom projects from initiation through completion
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client communication and coordination
- Oversee and coordinate work performed by engineering, drafting, and field teams
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and scope to ensure profitability
- Identify and support additional work opportunities within existing client projects
- Ensure quality completion of OSP engineering designs and related field work
- Review and approve invoicing and job-completion submission packages
- Maintain accurate project documentation, forecasts, and reporting
- Collaborate internally to resolve issues and adjust priorities as needed
- Support training and development of junior team members
- Perform other duties as needed to support operational goals

What You Bring
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering preferred); substantial OSP telecom experience with project management may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 3+ years of Project Management or large job coordination experience
- Training in outside plant (OSP) engineering methods and procedures
- Functional knowledge of OSP principles, work order processes, and CAD systems (AutoCAD or similar)
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, invoicing, and revenue tracking
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving tools, technologies, and processes
Preferred
- PMP or other project management certification

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Permitting Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our fiber projects move forward efficiently by navigating complex permitting processes across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external agencies to secure permits, manage timelines, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects while building strong relationships with municipalities and regulatory agencies.

- Manage the full lifecycle of permitting for fiber optic infrastructure projects
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications with DOT, municipalities, counties, and utility authorities
- Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to ensure permitting aligns with project schedules
- Maintain relationships with local permitting offices, DOT officials, and municipal authorities
- Ensure compliance with all right-of-way regulations, traffic control requirements, and utility coordination standards
- Track permit statuses, approvals, and conditions across multiple jurisdictions
- Address comments, revisions, and resubmissions as required by permitting agencies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all permitting activities
- Identify potential permitting risks and work proactively to resolve issues that could impact project timelines
- Support internal teams with guidance on permitting requirements and regulatory processes
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering degree strongly preferred.
(Substantial relevant Permitting and OSPE experience may substitute for degree.) - 3–7+ years of permitting experience, preferably in fiber optic or telecommunications infrastructure
- Experience working with state DOT permitting processes
- Experience coordinating with multiple municipalities and local jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of right-of-way permitting, utility permitting, and traffic control plans
- Familiarity with fiber construction processes such as aerial and underground deployment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and external agencies
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
