Daniel Huffman founded ONUG Communications in August 1999 and brings more than 18 years of experience in the telecommunications and utility industries. Prior to ONUG, he served as Director of Professional Services for a large southeastern Engineer, Furnish, and Install firm acquired by Alcoa-Fujikura, Ltd., where he founded and led the Professional Services Division from concept through profitability within two years.
Daniel’s expertise spans last-mile networks, data infrastructure, CATV, and broadband technologies, providing clients with strategic insight and practical solutions in a rapidly evolving industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and previously held multiple management and technical leadership roles with BellSouth Telecommunications.

Nate Hagerty serves as Vice President and General Manager of ONUG Communications, bringing more than two decades of leadership experience across engineering and operations. A Virginia native, Nate holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Virginia Tech.
Throughout his career, Nate has held key leadership roles with organizations including the Rosewood Group and BW Container Systems, where he developed a strong track record in operational excellence and team leadership. He has overseen the growth and development of more than 12,000 employees, combining technical expertise, business insight, and a passion for developing people to advance ONUG’s vision and long-term goals.

Melissa Sledge serves as Director of People & Culture at ONUG Communications, where she leads initiatives that strengthen culture, elevate the employee experience, and align people strategy with business goals. She partners closely with leadership to ensure ONUG’s Core Values are embedded into how teams work, grow, and succeed today and into the future.
With more than 20 years of experience across recruiting and people leadership, Melissa has partnered with teams across the United States to attract, develop, and support talent at every stage of growth. Her approach blends thoughtful talent strategy, leadership development, and accountability with a strong focus on engagement, transparency, and long-term success.
Prior to ONUG, Melissa held recruiting and people leadership roles within mid-sized and large organizations across industries including retail, staffing, and manufacturing, giving her a broad perspective on building scalable, people-centered organizations.
John Bartuska serves as Director of Human Resources at ONUG Communications, where he has led all people-related functions since joining the company in October 2013. He has played a key role in building and supporting ONUG’s team, working closely with leadership to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
John holds senior-level HR certifications including SPHR and SHRM-SCP and is trained in Six Sigma process improvement, behavioral assessment and interviewing, leadership development, and recruiting. Over the course of his career, he has led teams ranging from 5 to 200 employees and has been directly involved in interviewing and hiring more than 1,000 professionals.
Prior to ONUG, John held operational and HR leadership roles within mid-sized and large global organizations across industries including telecommunications, insurance, healthcare, electronics, and office solutions. He has also founded and operated his own businesses delivering recruiting, consulting, and hospitality services.
Dick Sposito brings more than 38 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with leadership spanning product engineering, engineering management, product marketing, business development, sales, and project management. He has worked extensively on Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) products and deployments for more than two decades.
Dick holds multiple patents in data switching and optical network unit technologies and has been directly involved in several industry firsts, including early fiber-to-the-home deployments, large-scale municipal fiber overbuilds, and the first service deployment of IPTV. His work has supported some of the earliest and most impactful advancements in fiber network technology.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dick holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio. He is known for leading complex projects to successful completion and for bringing deep technical knowledge paired with practical execution to every initiative.
